This session will provide a brief historical perspective of Post Secondary Corrections Education pertaining to Career & Technical Education along with background, Information will be shared on program development, challenges faced, lessons learned and best practices from numerous years of offering CTE programming within the confines of a correctional facility
A team of Iowa stakeholders representing postsecondary education, community leaders, industry and students participated in the Equity Leadership Academy for States to create equitable outcomes for special population students in CTE. Participants will be able to: 1) identify data elements that provide a clear understanding of subgroups that show performance gaps; 2) conduct root cause action research; 3) select interventions and evaluate identified interventions for effectiveness
