Iowa ACTE Best Practices Conference 2021

Heartland AEA has been reviewing data and providing supports to improve the Future Readiness of our students. Participants will learn how one AEA is moving the needle for Future Readiness and will be able to replicate at their school, district or AEA

This session will provide a brief historical perspective of Post Secondary Corrections Education pertaining to Career & Technical Education along with background,  Information will be shared on program development, challenges faced, lessons learned and best practices from numerous years of offering CTE programming within the confines of a correctional facility

A team of Iowa stakeholders representing postsecondary education, community leaders, industry and students participated in the Equity Leadership Academy for States to create equitable outcomes for special population students in CTE.  Participants will be able to: 1) identify data elements that provide a clear understanding of subgroups that show performance  gaps; 2) conduct root cause action research; 3) select interventions and evaluate identified interventions for effectiveness

Career and technical student organizations (CTSOs) are coming to Iowa!  Learn more about Iowa's eight CTSOs, how to find the best for your school, and what's included in the Perkins V requirement.Review of CTSO alignment to service areas, basic understanding of how to start a chapter of a CTSO, CTSO purpose and outcomes
