ACTE Advancing Career & Technical Educators Symposium Coordinator


Lisa spent over 25 years in secondary and middle school classrooms teaching FCS courses that include ProStart, School-to-work, health, math and science and served as an FCCLA Adviser. She spent 5 years at Iowa State University coordinating and teaching the Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Studies (FCEDS) program major. She retired in June of 2020 from the Iowa Department of Education where she was a CTE Consultant specializing in Human Services programming. She holds a Master's in Education and was Nationally Board Certified in CTE in 2007. Her passion for CTE and FCS has led her to involvement in regional and national boards. She was elected to the National ACTE board as the Region III Vice President where she served through July 2022. She is currently coordinating a Grant Symposium through ACTE to bring Preservice and Alternatively licensed CTE educators to ACTE's VISION 2022.
